The temporary capital, Aden, witnessed today the official handover ceremony of the command of Quwat Dira’ Al-Watan between Major General Bashir Saif Al-Subahi and Major General Bassam Mahdar Al-Sanabi, in implementation of Presidential Leadership Council Chairman and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces Decision No. 57 of 2026.
Major General Bashir Al-Subahi affirmed that the handover covered all military and administrative assets, noting that Quwat Dira’ Al-Watan had achieved significant progress during the previous phase and contributed to establishing an institutional model founded on discipline and organized work.
He congratulated the new leadership and expressed his continued support for the force’s mission and its institutional approach as a unified national military force. In turn, Major General Bassam Mahdar praised the efforts of the previous leadership and affirmed his commitment to continuing the development of Quwat Dira’ Al-Watan and enhancing its operational readiness in service of the nation.
Chief of Staff Major General Abdulrahman Saleh Hassan Al-Lahji also affirmed his commitment to continuing the same path in building a disciplined, professional, and effective military force.
The ceremony concluded with the presentation of the Shield of Loyalty and Appreciation to Major General Bashir Al-Subahi in recognition of his leadership and his contributions to strengthening institutional discipline and enhancing the force’s readiness.
The ceremony was attended by force commanders, directors of departments, and senior military advisers.
