Under the directives of the General Commander of Quwat Dira’ Al-Watan, Major General Bassam Mahdar Al-Sanabi, and under the supervision of Abyan Governor Dr. Mukhtar Al-Rubash, the Public Works Department of Quwat Dira’ Al-Watan continues to carry out reinforcement and rehabilitation works on water barriers across the Abyan Delta, with the aim of improving the utilization of rainwater and floodwater resources and supporting agricultural activity throughout the governorate.
The Public Works Department stated that the ongoing works are intended to reduce floodwater loss and ensure the efficient flow of water to agricultural lands, particularly in the delta areas that depend heavily on seasonal rainfall to sustain agricultural production.
These interventions form part of Quwat Dira’ Al-Watan’s broader efforts to support the agricultural sector and protect agricultural land in Abyan Governorate, given the Abyan Delta’s vital economic significance and its role in supporting the livelihoods of thousands of families.
